How encryption works
The technical model behind Unimatrix's client-side encryption.
Every memory is encrypted in your browser or client application before it is ever transmitted, using a key derived from your encryption password. The server only ever receives and stores ciphertext.
This means Unimatrix operates on a zero-knowledge model for memory content: even with full database access, no one — including Unimatrix staff — can read the plaintext of your memories without your password.
Metadata needed for the app to function (timestamps, Palace/Location names you choose, memory size) is not end-to-end encrypted in the same way, since it is needed for search and organization — avoid putting sensitive information directly in Palace or Location names if that is a concern.
See "Can you read my memories?" and "Is my data safe?" for related answers.
